OMSI

My parents and I checked out OMSI today because I wanted to see the exhibit about video games. Once we got there, I found out that there was also a Narnia exhibit, which ended up being way too excellent. My dad ended up loving the video game exhibit, showing me the "computer" he used in his first computer programming class (third photo) and the first computer he worked on as a professional. He especially loved the part of the exhibit on Lara Croft (who I found out was originally supposed to be an English man before they reworked her character and that originally, he chest was of average size, but that the graphics designer accidently maginfied her breasts by 150% one day and everyone told him to keep her like that).
Then we went to see the IMAX show, Born to be Wild (sixth photo), which was narrated by God, aka Morgan Freeman. It was an amazing story about two women who devoted their lives to rescuing orphaned animals (Dame Daphne M. Sheldrick cares for orphaned baby elephants in Kenya, while primatologist Dr. Biruté Mary Galdikas cares for orphaned baby orangutans in Borneo) and raising them so that they will florish when they are returned to their natural habitats.
I left OMSI this evening with two new figurines for my desk (a baby elephant and a mama orangutan with a baby on her back) and the urge to do something good for our world and to make a positive difference.

SkateWorld

The PLACE to be tonight in Hillsboro was mostdef the local SkateWorld. Adult skate every Friday night from 10pm to 12am. Who could ask for more? No little ones to be afraid of running over and we got to listen to what ever music we wanted to! No editting necessary! But one thing that was supposed to be a selling point really bummed me out: no games? Sad. We did play one- Red Light, Green Light- but I am absolutely awful at that game, sooo it didn't turn out well. I wanted to play the Dice Game. What is a night at SkateWorld without cheating at the Dice Game? Well, I still had buckets of fun and got some prettywicked photos because the place was so dark that my Nikon need a longer exposure time then normal.

Angry Cordova

The last day my parents and I were in Cordova, Alaska, it was thunderstorming! My sistah Jessyka said that she had never experienced lightning or thunder in Cordova (she's been living there the past two summers), so I felt pretty special to experience this side of the town! The rain sadly deterred us from walking out on Sheridan's Glacier (the day before was cold and wet enough by Child's Glacier, and I was promised a trip out there next summer), but I love love love rain and the storm made the town smell so fresh and alive! But best of all was definitely the thunder and lightning. When the lightning struck, it was like it was striking right next to you it was so bright and unexpected. And the thunder was soooo loud! I felt like the sky was literally shouting at us. But in an almost Oregon-like turn-of-events (or I guess, turn-of-weather), it was sunny and dry again by 3pm, and just in time for our 5pm flight to come in and take us away from not-so-Angry anymore Cordova.

I'm still going through all my pictures from the trip, so if I have a good photographic representation of Angry Alaska, I'll slap it up here as soon as I can!

Cordova, Alaska

I'm absolutely loving the natural beauty and ruggedness of my sister Jessyka's little Alaskan fishing town of Cordova. It's Alaska, but we've been wearing t-shirts (I even saw some locals wearing sandles! jeez!) everyday no problem. It isn't as warm as, say, LA is right now, but I'm guessing that it doesn't stay practically day-light outside until almost midnight there like it does here (throws offf your sleeping pattern a bit, but I can't complain about weather that's helping me stay up later and get up earlier!). I can't, actually I can, believe that I've already taken 650+ pictures here, including the two above from earlier today. We went on two breathtaking walks and I got some great shots, although they don't represent the giant rain drops pelting my roof right now very well (I LOVE RAIN!). I'm loving this little chunk of paradise more and more every minute and definitely wishing I would've thought to spend more of my summer here (the town in the summertime is ten-to-one men-to-women, so being here couldn't hurt my love life hahah), but, alas, I missed Oregon far too much not to go back at all. We're going to the glacier tomorrow and hopefully at one point before Tuesday night, we'll see an eagle, a moose or a brown bear (or all three!) to add to the otters, seals, spawning salmon, and plethora of ravens and seagulls we've seen so far. Look for more pictures from Cordova, Seattle, Hope Idaho, Walla Walla Washington, and all the travels inbetween later on here and on my Facebook profile.

T-Shirt Quilts

My mom and I are going to make me a t-shirt quilt this summer out of all of my old high school t-shirts (from volleyball, leadership, the play, other sports). I'm so excited because this way I get to remember all of the great memories that go along with these shirts even though I don't wear them anymore! I'll put up a photo of the finished product!

MTV's Teen Wolf

I started watching Teen Wolf two days ago and I had to catch up, so I've watched three episodes already today! I'm loving Tyler Posey as Scott McCall, aka Teen Wolf, Dylan O'Brien as Stiles, aka Scott's goofy best friend, and Crystal Reed as Allison Argent, aka Scott's love interest and "new girl in town with a dark family secret" (I don't want to give anything away, but I have a feeling the family secret is going to get in the way of Scott and Allison's relationship!).

I just love how cute Scott is with Allison; how he totally acts like an awkward sixteen year old around her. But that may be because he is an awkward sixteen year old (even though Tyler Posey is actually nineteen years old and older than I am)!

And as always...

Remember Maid in Manhattan with Jennifer Lopez? Well Tyler Posey was her son in it!

Tyler plays also guitar/vocals in the band, Lost in Kostko (second from the right).

Look for Crystal Reed in Crazy, Stupid, Love. out July 29th!

Make It Or Break It

My senior year of high school my friend Emily Tait and I fell in love with an ABC Family original series, Make It Or Break It, a show about four elite gymnasts and their dramas both in and out of the gym. I hadn't been up to date on the show for all of my time in college, but then my friend Michaela Hanson told me that she had begun to watch the show herself. I, of course, had to start watching it again after a few texts from Michaela about the crazy shit that goes down in this show. So thanks to Ms. Hanson, I have watched three episodes today only and have been sitting in my room, not doing my homework, for the past three hours. Damn you, Michaela! hahahaha

I hope they go on to do some movies!

HOT!
