this

hey so I decided I'm going to stop feeling bad about the fact that I never blog anymore. like ever. never ever.  It's not like I don't have the time.. I spent last night trying to painting my nails and reading the fourth Twilight book. again. [it's more than a little difficult to convince myself to go out at night when it's 35 degrees and raining or even snowing outside...] yeah so, I have absolutely no excuses. soooo yeah. here's a photo I took in Lyon this weekend when I went there with my parents as they visited me for my 21st birthday. yep. I love dead nature, as my dad says, or "la nature qui dort," as my host mom says.

comme tu veux.

HOCKEY

I went to a hockey game tonight with my friends Catherine and Shannon! The Grenoble team, les Brûleurs de Loups (which translates to "the Burners of Wolves") may have lost to their "rivals down the road" les Ours (the Bears) de Villard de Lans (Villard de Lans is a roughly 45 minute drive from Grenoble), but the game was still insanely fun. It was great to feel that adrenaline rush that comes from being in a large crowd of crazed fans, no matter what language they're screaming in. We yelled "Allez, Grenoble" with the best of them, ate crepes (which they sold at the concession stands, like they sell hot dogs and soft pretzels at games in the US) and bought les Brûleurs de Loups banner scarves! It was an excellent night and a great end to a rough week. But now I should be going to sleep because I have to be at Place Verdun at 7am sharp tomorrow to catch the bus to Dijon, where I'm going this weekend with my BU group to eat mustard and drink wine! yay! Also, my parents are currently in flight, hurtling towards Amsterdam, where they will be until Wednesday when they head down south to see me in Grenoble and celebrate my 21st birthday with me! It's in 5 days!!! sooo crazy. I feel so old! ahhaha and my sister Shannon is already in Cordova, snuggling that babe Harper and hanging out with Jessyka and Jonah. Can't say I'm not a giant bowl of green jello about it, but I do get to meet her in 37 days myself! and I'm sorry, but I really couldn't tell ya what's going on for my brother Will, he's mysterious... ahahah

PIX:

just stretching out. real casual.
numba nine, lookin' fiiiiine.
time-out.

only in France.

Crepes and hockey, it's like what apple pie and baseball is to Americans.
broken stick that we're weren't sure where it came from...
FIGHT!

Then our goalie got all sassy. He's like,
Seriously guys? We're losing and you're wasting my time, ahahha
 les Brûleurs de Loups

More fighting! with 5 seconds left on the clock.

The French, They're Just Like US!
Grenoble sparkles at night, even without these lights :]

since I didn't die last time...

here's another fashion post.

I read on the météo that it was supposed to be unseasonably warm today (67 degrees F) and so I wore a half-shirt. hahah as in, a shirt that I cut all up for no good reason besides to cause my back to be exposed and cold whenever I wear it. [C'est une bonne idée!] but really, it was warmer than it has been for a while, so I went for broke and wore it.

And hurr're da photos:

and the timer went off too early..
and I was wearing my favorite songs..

hey and please pretend like you didn't notice that my hair is still in the same braids they were yesterday.. whoops..

and now for my (embarrassing) attempt at a style post

What I wore today. I have to say that I felt like I pulled myself together a purdy neat outfit, so I thought I'd share. Besides, I also still have in the the braids that I put in my hair during the 15 minutes my prof kept us late (again) today, you know, so I wouldn't go mad (it wouldn't be so bad, except that our classes already are four hours long each day) and I was actually wearing make-up, which I found to be a shock for those in my class.

Hurr ya go:

oh and please pardon my mess. I'm not very good at keeping a neat room (as any of my former or current roommates could tell you).

[: jusqu'à la fois prochaine... ;]

Marseille?

So here I am in Marseille. Not sure I can say I'm obsessed with this city yet (it's raining cats and dogs and is definitely a little sketchy), but we are staying at a place on a cute little walking-street. So that's lovely. :]

jusqu'a la fois prochaine...
