Venice Beach, Santa Monica Pier and UCLA campus

Hey so I actually brought my computer on this trip, so I'm gonna post some pictures from today already! Yay! We left PDX hardly before 7am [after less than three hours of sleep, so I'm pooped] and got into Santa Ana sometime around 9am. Suffice it to say, our hotel room [in the sublime Irvine] was not ready for us, so we went to see if Venice Beach was [oh and it was most def ready for us]. I got some photographs there on both my fancy digital Nikon Coolpix and just under 24 on my dad's old Pentax [it's from the 70s!]. So I'll show ya the digital pixs on this post and well.. I probs won't ever post the ones from the Pentax because it's a film camera and it's kinda difficult to get those up on the comper.
Anywhooo, we also made it up to Santa Monica's crazy carnival pier and then up to UCLA's campus where we got some of the best pizza ever at Lamonicas NY-Pizza and then I got some brand spankin' new film at a camera shop just around the corner [where they also informed me that my dad's ten-to-twenty year old film most likely won't come out well if I use them. which is just too bad because I had already used a role that I will definitely be developing and I have roughly a million other roles that I'm gonna practice with!].

Hurr're some digitals:

Dogtown Skateboards.

So many bikes.
at the Santa Monica Pier.

Outside UCLA's music building.

I originally was supposed to sit under that sign,
but I was so scared it would fall on me that my brother switched seats.

Rose Bowl 1012

Sub Ohio State for Wisconsin. Sub a loss for a dubya. photo credit: http://www.photopilot.com.

My parents, brother and I are all heading down South for the Rose Bowl in two days!! I'm spending tonight looking at guide books and online to plan out our trip! A couple vegan restaurants, a haunted Hollywood tour and hopefully the Rose Bowl parade and New Year's Eve spent at Disneyland! oh and a dubya in the Rose Bowl would be real nice!

Orlando Trip Part Two: Universal Studio Lot and Islands of Adventure

It's like my heart is a tooth, and it's got a cavity
that can only be filled with children

The first full day we were in Orlando, we slept in a bit [well sleeping in for the east coast, it was around 7am in Portland] and then went straight for the big prize: Universal Studios and HarryPotterland! We bought a three day, park-hopper pass and thank god for that because we accidentally went into the Studio Lot park at Universal on the first day [it has all the rides based off movies, like Twister, Men in Black, Shrek and the Mummy]! Which wouldn't be that bad [we spent all of the third day there], but all the Harry Potter attractions were at the Islands of Adventure! So we high tailed it over to Hogwarts and Hogsmead, but we got stuck in Whoville first...

Hurrrr they are:
Mayor of Whoville!

Hogsmead!

Hogwarts Express!

Black on the loose!

The castle!

A Notice from the Ministry of Magic

In Dumbledore's office

Harry, Ron and Hermione!

the fat lady

the sorting hat

The Great Hall!

stalking the Durmstrang guys..

Buckbeak!

On top of the worlds

Gilderoy Lockhart

It was making the awful noise it made in the movie.

I had such a massive crush on Sirius from the books!

Three Broomsticks

Ollivander's!

He matched this kid to a wand. But he wouldn't stay
still enough for a good picture.

Whoville was bumpin'

The park was super pretty when it was dark out.

Merry-go-round!

The Hulk!!

Totes my favorite superhero.
